Holiday

I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday break with family and friends. If you are leaving town or the country, please be careful and have a safe trip!

I will see you on January 5, 2010!

Happy Holidays,

  2. On a totally different subject, it is my understanding that the school board (HISD) approved an optional calendar for schools that believe a longer school year will help them to better meet their students' needs. Has Herrera given any thought to this?

  3. An extended "year-round" school calendar has many pros and cons. At this time the extended calendar for HISD is only being offered for select schools in the district. The extended calendar is an approach to help low-performing school. Perhaps in the future Dr. Grier will offer this to other schools, and we will definately look into the possibilities while involving the entire community in the discussions.

    Thanks,
